Year 11 Student Journal
15 years on this planet, and I feel like my whole life has been in preparation for this moment right now! They called me Ashryah – meaning blessed, fortunate and happy; right now I feel none of these things. September 2021
After a whole year of not attending school due to a global pandemic, now they want me to go back like nothing has happened. Looking at my hanging uniform with my glistening golden tie, to identify me as Senior Prefect for my year group. The pressure seems to be mounting. Year 11! The final year to make everything that I have learned in my 15 years count. 7 GCSE’s but I guess I should be thankful for the amazing support system school has provided, all my subject teachers have rallied around ensuring time has been made for us to catch up, additional lessons, and mock exams. Ughhh another lateral flow test to take, staring at the washed-out purple line praying it doesn’t develop into a second line, that’d be disastrous! More time off from actual learning, if I'm honest I cant wait to get my Vaccine on the 11th although I'm apprehensive about the effects it could have on me. I hope I am able to maintain my academic achievements of averaging with my grades and maybe getting better with bridging the gap of knowledge missed so I can achieve higher grades. I have been looking at potential colleges and sixth-forms to attend after G.C.S.E’s. I'm actually looking forward to attending some open days, I’ve heard the freebies are quite good. Lol. Anyways I'm going to sign off for now I’ll be back to update you on the next month's events....good news my test is negative so I guess I'm good to be in school for the week. XO |
