September 2021 - Moving to Uni
Hi everyone, today I have an update for you.
I’ve finally moved into uni. On Saturday evening I brought my belongings to my accommodation, the room was decently sized. The shower was a bit tiny, but it’ll do. We took some photos of any stains or damage that was already there so that I wouldn’t get charged for it later. The kitchen was fine however, there were some marks on the table top and cooker, inside a cupboard and the oven wasn’t too clean so we told the staff about it. Later I went back home so I could get more things to bring to my dorm - and because I was a little homesick. I met one of my flatmates and she seemed nice. My nerves went down a bit.
Today, me and my family brought the rest of the things I needed and they helped me set my room up. I’m very grateful for that. Then we said our goodbyes, I wish my sister could’ve stayed with me.
After that I took a walk around campus. It was pretty big and it looked so pretty, there was a lot of plants and greenery and the buildings had a cool modern look, there were pairs and groups of people around but also people walking on their own, like I was, walking alone didn’t feel awkward or strange at all.
I wanted to check out the library but I didn’t get my student ID yet so I wasn’t able to be let in. After that, I phoned up some family members and I hung out with some of my family who lived in that area.
Now I’m back at my accommodation room, I just re-arranged it a little bit and I’m quite settled in. I have my course induction tomorrow, at 10pm, so I’ll have to sleep soon.
I’m a little bit nervous for that because I haven’t met a lot of people yet, but at the same time, I’m excited to find some new friends. Once my induction event for the day is over, I’m going to have a look at any societies I’d like to join.
From now on, I’ll work really hard!!
I’ll update you all again soon, thank you for reading.
