As a ThinkHigher Ambassador you will represent the universities of Warwick and Coventry in schools to raise the aspirations of students aged 13-18. This will be in various forms such as; mentoring, in school events, campus visits at the universities or colleges, virtual events, parental engagement activities, support at such times as GCSE and A Level results days or on bespoke projects such as 'Project Empower' or 'The Female Lead Society'. No day will be the same, the role ranges from Q&As with students about university life to leading on campus tours... There are so many opportunities to take up with ThinkHigher, all whilst supporting our students. Hourly Pay: £9.50 an hour Hours: Ad-hoc and as agreed in advance. (Can work around studies, additional jobs and other commitments.) Jobs will be sent out individually and ambassadors apply for those they are available to work. However we do expect all ambassadors to apply for a minimum of 20 hours of work throughout the academic year. |

The UniversityGo! programme works with young people in years 7-9, who are in Local Authority Care, to support their educational progression and help them recognise their potential. The programme is a partnership between the two virtual schools in Coventry and Warwickshire and the two regional universities, University of Warwick and Coventry University. UniversityGo! focuses on giving young people an insight into university life, supporting identified students to develop resilience, self-confidence and efficacy in their education, engaging students in types of learning that they may not experience through school, and supporting our cohort to build essential skills such as team work, communication and research. UniGo Ambassadors will build relationships with students they are matched with and mentor them to raise their career aspirations. Mentoring will take place both through online mentoring and physically - preference of this can be discussed if successful. Mentors will be supported to plan and deliver their own sessions and liaise with schools. The sessions can work around your current commitments but you will need to commit to a whole academic year.
