Year 13 Personal Statement Support drop in session


We will be offering weekly personal statement writing support sessions which are open to all year 13 students.  These will be virtual events that are run every Monday during term time until the UCAS application deadline between 19:30 – 20:30

Students will be able to drop in to a virtual Teams Meeting to get help and advice on writing their personal statements from the ThinkHigher team.  The sessions will be run as a group event where students will be given some general best practice and tips, take part in a live Q&A and will be invited to email their Personal Statements to our team for individual feedback

All young people in the UK must complete full time education until the age of 16 then they must either remain in education, employment or training until 18. What is an apprenticeship?
On an apprenticeship, you're employed to do a real job while studying for a formal qualification, usually for one day a week either at a college or training centre. By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll hopefully have gained the skills and knowledge needed to either succeed in your chosen career or progress onto the next apprenticeship level.

 What is a BTEC?
BTEC stands for the Business and Technology Education Council. BTECs are specialist work-related qualifications. They combine practical learning with subject and theory content. There are over 2,000 BTEC qualifications across 16 sectors

What is an NVQ?
​
NVQ stands for national vocational qualification. Each one includes practical work-related tasks. They're available in more than 1,000 subjects ranging from plumbing to hairdressing.

Local College Information

North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College
are still accepting online applications for all of their courses, staff will contact applicants to arrange interviews over the phone. Please be aware that due to the ongoing Covid19 crisis there may be a delay in confirming your place on the course. If you have any concerns or questions you can find contact details here


King Edward VI College are honouring all conditional offers and still accepting applications. Contact the college at admissions@kecnuneaton.ac.uk to receive information on their application process or information about the courses or college.  

The Warwickshire College Group (WCG) consists of 7 college campuses: Leamington, Rugby, Morton Morrell, Pershore, Warwick Trident, Evesham and Malvern Hills. All campuses are receiving online applications for anyone wishing to study at any of their campuses. If you have any concerns or questions you can find contact details here.

Coventry College are accepting applications for all courses due to start in September, interviews will be arranged once the college reopens. If anyone has already received a conditional offer, this will be honoured and further information will be sent to applicants in the coming months.
